Comment standards
Metro does not review or approve comments before they are posted to the site. Metro does, however, reserve the right to review, edit, refuse or delete any comment. Comments that are flagged as "offensive" by metronews.ca users will be reviewed and potentially removed from the site at Metro's sole discretion.

Here are some good guildlines to follow when writing a comment:

• Stick to the point.
• Do not copy material from other sources, except in brief quotes, with the source acknowledged.
• Vigorously debate the ideas, but avoid personal attacks.
• Do not make comments that are threatening, defamatory (for example: alleging criminal activity by an individual), obscene, profane, contain hate speech or degrade others.

If you see a comment that appears to violate these guidelines, please click on the "Offensive" link for that comment.

Screen Names
Your Screen Name will appear with any comments you post. You are welcome to use your real name as your Screen Name, but we advise against using personal information such as your address of phone number.

Metro reserves the right to reject any Screen Name that we consider to be offensive or potentially misleading.
